Coriander is related to the parsley family and indigenous to the Mediterranean and the Orient. The leaves of this plant are the herb cilantro, and the seeds are the spice coriander. The flavors of both bear no resemblance to one another. Coriander has a sweet, spicy, and woody aroma, with a mild sweet taste that contains hints of orange and citrus.
